Welcome to CAAD Futures 2025 at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Below is essential travel information to help you plan your visit.
Visa Requirements
Most overseas visitors can enter Hong Kong without a visa for tourism or short business visits, with permitted stays ranging from 7 to 180 days depending on nationality. For longer stays or activities such as work, study, or business, a visa or entry permit is required. All visitors must hold a passport valid for more than one month.

Accommodation
A variety of hotels are available near HKU, catering to different budgets and preferences. Here are some recommended options:
- JEN Hong Kong by Shangri-La: A modern hotel with excellent amenities, close to HKU
- Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong: Comfortable and convenient, ideal for conference attendees
- Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan: A budget-friendly option with good access to public transport

Transportation
Hong Kong’s public transportation system is efficient and easy to navigate, making it simple to reach HKU.
MTR (Metro)
The closest station is HKU Station on the Island Line. From Hong Kong International Airport, take the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station, then transfer to the Island Line to HKU Station (approximately 45 minutes total).
Buses
Routes 23, 37A, 40, 40M, and 90B stop near HKU’s main campus.
Taxis
Red taxis serve Hong Kong Island and are widely available. A taxi from the airport to HKU costs approximately HK$360.
